Restler Seeks to Cancel Alternate Side on Tisha B’Av

NEW YORK — Councilman Lincoln Restler introduced legislation Thursday to add Tisha B’Av to the list of days on which alternate side parking is suspended.

“From early in the morning until late at night, observant Jews spend Tisha B’Av at shul,” said Restler, who represents the heavily Orthodox neighborhood of Williamsburg. “It’s an inappropriate and unrealistic burden for members of the Jewish community to worry about moving cars on such a meaningful day.”
