Two Teenage Girls Injured in Stamford Hill Bus Accident

Two teenage girls were severely injured by a bus Monday evening in Stamford Hill, UK, police said. The accident, which occurred at the junction of Amhurst Park and Stamford Hill at around 5PM, happened when a bus crashed into a traffic pole at the busy traffic hub.

Sources tell Hamodia that it appears as though the bus was attempting to squeeze through the junction to avoid staying in the yellow box, when it mounted the pavement and struck the traffic pole. One girl was struck by the bus, and the other by the falling pole. The victims, who are cousins, were walking on the street at the time.

Hatzola, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance service all rushed to the site and treated the victims there. One girl was taken to a major trauma centre, and the other to hospital by Hatzola. Both girls suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. Their families have been informed.

The entire area was closed off after the incident. Stamford Hill Shomrim posted an advisory on social media to “avoid A10 Stamford Hill between A107 Amhurst Park, Clapton Common and Egerton Road N16.”

The Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville, expressed his concern on social media, saying, “Awful to hear about this accident tonight in Stamford Hill.

‘First thoughts with those injured in the accident and all those from the community and emergency services who went to help them.’
