Fire Damages Mesivta Tiferes Shmuel in Lakewood

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning, the second day of Rosh Hashanah, at Mesivta Tiferes Shmuel at 420 Cross Street in Lakewood, NJ, and it took two hours for several fire companies to get it under control, the Lakewood Scoop reported.
The fire started some time around 2:00 a.m. in the wood frame structure and it engulfed the structure, as a general alarm was sounded to request aid from other fire companies in the area, including Brick, Jackson, Point Pleasant, Boro and Beach. The units remained at the scene until 5:00 a.m.
The Ocean County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
