Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian terrorist during an arrest raid overnight Motzoei Shabbos in northern Shomron.

The IDF said it spotted a group of armed men traveling in a car and on a motorcycle during an operation near Shechem and opened fire. The Den of Lions, a local terrorist ring, said one of its members, Sayid al-Kuni, was killed in a “clash with the occupation forces.”

Israel has been conducting nightly arrest raids in the northern Shomron since a series of deadly Palestinian attacks inside Israel last spring. Some of the terrorists came from the area.

The Den of Lions was responsible for the recent shooting attack on a bus of Jewish residents near Har Bracha, near Shechem. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Earlier in September, members of the Den of Lions briefly clashed with Palestinian security forces in Shechem. The group views the Palestinian Authority as a vehicle of corruption and collaboration with Israel.
