38,000 People Attend Erev Rosh Hashanah Selichos at Kosel
About 38,000 mispallelim participated in the Selichos of Erev Rosh Hashanah at the Kosel on Motzoei Shabbos.
The multitudes crowded the Kosel plaza from an hour after the end of Shabbos until the main Selichos which began shortly after midnight and continued throughout the night.
The Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Harav Shlomo Moshe Amar, the Rav of the Kosel Harav Shmuel Rabinowitz, the Mayor of led the event.
The ceremony was broadcast live on huge screens in various places throughout the Kosel plaza and even on the walls of the Old City, to allow many thousands of mispallelim who were unable to reach the plaza itself to take part in the event.
