Stabbing Attack in Modiin

YERUSHALAYIM — In a suspected terror attack in the central Israeli city of Modiin on Thursday night, eight people were injured—including two with light stab wounds, five from pepper spray—according to initial reports.
Police said the alleged assailant stopped his vehicle at a traffic light, close to the Shilat junction, and began to open car doors and attack people with a knife and pepper spray.
Magen David Adom ambulance service said that two men in separate cars — aged 39 and 23 — were treated for minor stab wounds to their hands.
The attacker was shot dead by an off-duty officer who was in the area, police said. He was identified as a 22-year-old Palestinian from the Ramallah area.
The eighth person hurt in the incident was the officer, who was lightly injured.
