Heavy Flooding in Sullivan County Causes Closure of Route 42 in South Fallsburg

NEW YORK – New York State Route 42 in Fallsburg, N.Y. was closed due to heavy rains which flooded the roadway and made it impassable. After rain fell for several hours on Tuesday afternoon and evening, the buildup of water overflowed onto the road and it had to be closed to vehicles to prevent accidents.
Camp Mesivta Meor Hatorah was flooded and the residents could be seen enjoying the weather by traversing the waters in a small boat.

As of 10:45 p.m., the highway is still closed to vehicular traffic.
