Suspect in Yarmulka Snatching in Williamsburg Arrested

BROOKLYN – A suspect in an incident of aggravated harassment which occurred on April 24, where a perpetrator snatch the yarmulka off the head of a six year old boy, was arrested on July 5 by the NYPD. The suspect, Marwan Mustafa, 30 years old, was charged with grand larceny as a hate crime and aggravated harassment.
On April 24, the suspect brazenly grabbed the yarmulka of the young boy in an unprovoked attack, and then fled the scene on foot. His image was captured on surveillance video and the NYPD commenced a search for him, which culminated with his arrest some ten weeks later.
