BORO PARK — A man was arrested for allegedly randomly punching a Jew in Boro Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The Jewish man was standing on Fort Hamilton Parkway at 50th Street when the assailant walked up to him and delivered a strong punch to the back, then said, “What?” The victim, who happened to be a Boro Park Shomrim member (but was not wearing a Shomrim jacket at the time of the attack), radioed for backup. Several Shomrim members responded, detaining the alleged assailant at 10th Avenue and 49th Street.
Police arrested the suspect. His name and the nature of the charges were not immediately released.
The victim was examined by Hatzalah. Despite being in some pain from the powerful punch, he was not seriously injured.
