BB Shot at Boro Park Home

Hole in the window caused by a BB shot from nearby.

As a Boro Park resident sat in his home on 57th Street between 11th and 12th Avenue on Monday evening at 9:45 p.m., a BB pellet came through the window of his home, leaving a small hole in the glass. As the owner went to the front door to investigate, he heard additional shots being fired nearby.

Construction site across the street from the house.

The shots apparently came from a construction site located directly across from the house whose window was damaged, or from the row of houses beyond the construction site.

Law enforcement do not believe this home was targeted, nor is it believed to be a hate crime. A community official has said that of late there has been a proliferation of children using BB guns in the neighborhood, and most likely this was caused by an errant shot caused by one of these children.
