‘Four Corners’ Intersection in Fallsburg to Undergo Improvements
By Hamodia Staff
NEW YORK – Residents of Sullivan County in the Fallsburg area were informed by the New York State Department of Transportation that the intersection of NYS Route 42 and County Road 52 (Old Falls Road) and County Road 53 (Brickman Road) will undergo an improvement project in the upcoming season.
To improve safety in the intersection, which is one of the busiest in the Catskill Region frequented by Jewish vacationers during the summer, the DOT plans to construct turning lanes on Rt 42 and both county roads, replace the signal hardware for the car lanes and for pedestrians, and repair the shoulders and install additional sidewalks.
The project is scheduled to begin immediately and should be completed by May of 2023. Travelers may experience some shoulder and lane closures which will be controlled by flaggers.
