Two Suspects Arrested in Assault and Robberies in Monticello

Police in the Catskill region of Upstate New York announced the arrest on May 11 of two suspects in the April assault and attempted robbery of a Jewish person in Monticello, NY.

On April 27, 2022, two perpetrators beat a homeowner on his head and attempted to rob him at his residence at 25 Morris Dr. in Monticello, located in Sullivan County. Catskill Hatzalah treated him for minor injuries.

New York State Police-Liberty along with the Village of Monticello Police Department arrested of Uwell E. Reynolds, age 20, and Keyshaun Carlton Graham Murray, age 20, both of the Village of Monticello for Burglary in the first degree.

Reynolds and Murray were also charged for a string of burglaries, which occurred on April 10, 2022, at approximately 4 a.m., at the Waverly Garden Housing Complex in the Village of Monticello. Both suspects were charged by the Village of Monticello Police Department with Burglary in the second degree, Grand Larceny in the third degree and Criminal Mischief in the second degree. They were both arraigned in front of Village of Monticello Justice Solomon and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash, $500,000 bond, and $1million partially secured bond.

The police said that additional charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
