Proof of Vaccine for NYC Businesses Enforcement Begins

NEW YORK

Starting Monday, New York City will enforce the vaccine requirement for indoor dining, fitness gyms and entertainment venues.

The mandate began in August but is only mandatory now. New Yorkers will have to present their physical vaccine card, a photocopy of the card,  or use the state or city’s vaccine app to affirm their status.

If businesses fail to comply with the vaccine mandates, they face fines starting at $1,000 and can reach $5,000 for repeated violations.

Restaurants that offer outdoor dining will be excluded.
