Gaza Rocket Fired at Sderot, 5 Lightly Injured

Gazan terrorists fired a rocket at southern Israel on Sunday, the third consecutive such breach of the truce between Hamas and Israel since the fighting last May.

Five residents, including at least one child, were lightly injured while running to shelters, but b’chasdei shamayim the rocket aimed at Sderot caused no direct casualties, according to The Jerusalem Post.

The Israel Defense Forces said that the rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

Shortly before the attack, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi warned that the IDF would “protect the Gaza border and will not accept any violation of [Israel’s] sovereignty of any kind. We are vigorously attacking for every violation and we will continue to do so, and if they escalate, Hamas and the Gaza Strip will pay a heavy price.”
