Arson Confirmed in at Least 9 Fires
At least nine fires in southern Israel on Monday were ignited by incendiary balloons launched by terrorists in the Gaza Strip, according to Fire and Rescue Services.
The cause of the fires in the Eshkol region, suspected earlier in the day, were confirmed by investigators as of the late afternoon.
A tenth fire, in Sdot Negev, was likely also caused by arson, investigators were saying.
Crews from Fire and Rescue Services, the IDF, the Jewish National Fund and local communities have been working to extinguish the blazes throughout the day in both areas.
