Religious Zionism MK Itamar Ben Gvir has been hospitalized after his COVID-19 symptoms turned serious, several days after he was first diagnosed with the virus and went into self-quarantine.

Ben Gvir tweeted that he entered Yerushalayim’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center over Shabbos for testing and supervision. Details of his condition were not as yet made known.

“I thank the medical staff for their dedicated care, and the people of Israel for their prayers and well wishes,” he wrote.

On Sunday, the Minister of Science, Technology and Space, Orit Farkash-Hacohen said she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and has gone into quarantine.

She was absent from Sunday’s weekly cabinet meeting, but said she is feeling well and continuing to work remotely.

Farkash-Hacohen was the seventh MK to come down with the coronavirus during this fourth wave. She joined MK Simcha Rotman (Yamina), Gilad Kariv (Labor), Vladimir Beliak (Yesh Atid), Inbar Bezek (Yesh Atid), and Ofer Cassif (Joint List).

Kariv was released from hospital on Thursday. Though his condition has improved, he still requires oxygen while at home.
