Arabs Attack Jew Viciously Near Shaar Shechem; Five Arabs Arrested

Early Thursday morning, a Jewish man was attacked by Arab rioters near Shaar Shechem (Damascus Gate) in the Old City of Yerushalayim. As a result of the violent assault, he was taken for medical attention.

After the incident, the Arab attackers fled the area, and police launched searches to locate the rioters. Police soon located and arrested five suspects in the act.

A police spokesman said that “in a clever operation by the Israel Police, a group of suspects was identified by a group of suspects on the Derech Shechem Road in Yerushalayim. Following the attack, the victim needed medical treatment and the suspects themselves fled the scene.”

Police further reported that Thursday morning a report was received about the assault of a man by a number of suspects in the Old City. The investigation of the case revealed that the suspects attacked the complainant and harmed him using a scooter belonging to one of the suspects.

After an intensive investigation, the two suspects and the scooter used in the assault were located and taken to the police for questioning.
