NJ to Open Day Camps, Sleepaway Camps This Summer
New Jersey will allow day camps and sleepaway camps to operate this summer, Governor Phil Murphy announced on Wednesday.
“Today, I’m signing an Executive Order allowing for our summer camps — both day camps and sleepaways — to open for the upcoming season,” Murphy said at his press conference. “We are all committed to a safe and fun summer for our kids.”
Camps will be required to mandate mask wearing indoors, and conduct frequent health screenings.
For sleepaway camps, overnight campers and staff who have not been vaccinated will be required to present a negative Covid test before camp starts. and another one a few days into the program, WCBS 880 reported.
