EU Official Says Vaccinated Americans May Visit This Summer

The European Union will allow Americans who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to visit this summer, Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said in an interview with on Sunday.

“The Americans, as far as I can see, use European Medicines Agency-approved vaccines,” von der Leyen, said. “This will enable free movement and the travel to the European Union.

“Because one thing is clear: All 27 member states will accept, unconditionally, all those who are vaccinated with vaccines that are approved by [the EU drug regulator]” she added. The agency, has approved the three vaccines being used in the United States, from Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson.
