Thief Snatches Shtreimel Off Man’s Head in Williamsburg
The New York Police Department Hate Crime Task Force is looking for a thief who snatched a shtreimel off a man’s head in Williamsburg Friday night.
Surveillance video at 6:15 p.m. Friday, on the corner of Wallabout Street and Marcy Avenue, shows the victim, a 27-year-old male wearing Chassidic attire, approached from behind by a man who snatched the shtreimel from his head and fled on foot.
The shtreimel was valued at $8,000.
The unidentified male is 5’7″ to 5’10”, 125 pounds, and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
