BD’E — Mrs. Ayala Rottenberg, A”h

Hamodia is saddened by the passing of Mrs. Ayala Rottenberg, longtime resident of Antwerp, Belgium, and more recently of Shaarei Chesed in Yerushalayim. She was 100 years old.

Mrs. Rottenberg was the wife of the late Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Rotenberg, zt”l, who served as the head of the kehillah in Antwerp, Belgium, and was niftar on the 24th of Tammuz, 5766. Her father-in-law was the Hagaon Harav Mordechai Rottenberg, zt”l Hy”d, the Rav of Antwerp prior to WWII.

She wrote the famous book “Yesterday’s Pages” which contained memories of the 50 years of the Bais Yaakov movement in Eretz Israel.

She was privileged to leave behind descendants who are talmidei chachamim and public servants who walk in her path.
