The Never Again Education Act (H.R.943), sponsored by Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), was signed into law on Friday, May 29. The legislation supports Holocaust education across the country by bolstering the already expansive educational resources at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM).

The Never Again Education Act passed in the House of Representatives on January 27, known as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 393-5,.and it passed the Senate by unanimous consent on May 13.

“The bipartisan Never Again Education Act is finally law,” Congresswoman Maloney said. “I’m proud our country has come together to make clear that antisemitism cannot and should not be tolerated. Our children are not born with hate in their hearts, and by providing educators with the tools they need to teach about the Holocaust, we can ensure they never learn it. Teaching our children about the dangers of antisemitism and hate is a proactive way to stop antisemitism before it even starts.”

H.R.943 expands the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s education programming to teachers across the country, funds a centralized website maintained by the Holocaust Museum where educators can find curriculum materials, and finances expansion of the Museum’s professional development programs.

$10 million dollars was allocated over 5 years for these activities.
