NEW YORK

Hamodia is saddened to report the passing of Rabbi Yehudah Michoel Meisels, z”l, who was niftar on Monday from coronavirus. Rabbi Meisels was in his mid 80s.

Rabbi Meisles was a trendsetter in the field of educating Jewish girls as he led Sarah Shenirer High School in Boro Park some 40 years ago. Over the past four decades, thousands of students have benefitted from his program, and others which followed the model which he launched.

Rabbi Meisels was married to Mrs. Hennie née Tress, daughter of the legendary Reb Michoel Gavriel (Mike) Tress who worked tirelessly to save Yidden during the holocaust, and later as a leader of Agudas Yisrael of America.
