A 58-year-old man with very significant pre-existing conditions died of the coronavirus in the Yitzchak Shamir Medical Center in Be’er Yaakov on Monday, making him the 16th – and youngest patient – in Israel to succumb to the disease.

According to the medical center, the patient was brought into the hospital from Cholon on Sunday. “Unfortunately, he passed away this morning,” the hospital said in a statement.

On Monday morning, the Health Ministry reported that the number of coronavirus patients in Israel is 4,347, with 80 listed in serious condition.
