Maimonides Erects Tent for Coronavirus Testing
Maimonides Medical Center in Boro Park on Sunday built a temporary tent outside its 10th Avenue entrance, as a coronavirus testing site.
The hospital is currently doing testing in the area generally reserved for emergency operations. Moving testing to the new, temporary tent will free up the space, and further ensure isolation of potential COVID-19 patients.
If the hospital population continues to grow due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital may eventually use the tent as a triage center as well.
New York state currently has over 15,000 confirmed cases of the new virus with presumably thousands more who have been infected but not tested. There are dozens of COVID-19 patients at Maimonides.
