All Rockland County schools, both public and private, will be closed, County Executive Ed Day said Monday.

Public schools will be closed starting Tuesday; the private-school closure takes effect Wednesday. Pre-K is not subject to the closure.

Day said the situation will be reassessed in two weeks.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo had said earlier Monday that schools in the state would be closed, but it was not clear whether Cuomo’s order applied to private schools.

Day also said the county is implementing measures against price-gouging and hoarding, mandating that stores impose limits on certain items. There is also a ban on open buffet and salad bars.
