Terrorist Killed as He Threw Firebomb at Israeli Vehicle
One terrorist was killed Motzoei Shabbos as he and two other individuals threw firebombs at Israeli vehicles near Chevron. The three were members of a gang that have frequently engaged in throwing rocks and firebombs at Israelis.
The incident occurred near the village of Beit Awa, as the terrorists were preparing to throw a firebomb at a passing vehicle. An IDF unit observed the incident and fired shots in the direction of the terrorists. One of the terrorists was hit and the other two fled. They were captured after a short chase and brought in for questioning.
Commenting on the incident, Har Chevron Regional Council head Yochai Damri said “we congratulate IDF forces for their dedicated work to defend residents. Soldiers killed and arrested terrorists who were trying to murder residents by throwing firebombs. This gang had carried out numerous attacks, and now their efforts have been quashed.”
Overnight Motzoei Shabbos, security officials said they arrested seven wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
