Israeli security forces on Motzoei Shabbos shot down a drone that infiltrated Israel from Gaza. Soldiers observed the drone entering Israeli airspace and shot it down over an open area near the Gaza border fence. Officials said that it was the latest in a series of drones Hamas terrorists had dispatched to Israel. Security officials had successfully shot all of them down.

Meanwhile, IDF soldiers over the weekend were busy rounding up dozens of terrorists in Yehudah and Shomron. Over the weekend, security officials said they arrested 60 wanted security suspects. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.

In addition, soldiers seized tens of thousands of shekels in terror funds, as well as dozens of weapons. The funds were part of payments made by Hamas and the Palestinian Authority to the families of terrorists for committing terror acts against Israelis, officials said. Among the weapons were M-16 rifles.

In a statement, the army said that such weapons were used in terror attacks as well as for criminal activity, and that security forces were determined to seize all weapons that were being held illegally by all people, in order to better protect all Israelis and residents of Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, who are also under threat by terrorists and criminals.
