Likud Charges Media Coverup of Support for PM
The Likud party claimed on Sunday that media outlets have been deliberately concealing the level of support for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu among members of his party.
A Likud statement said, “Most Likud ministers, who represent a huge majority of Likud members, have expressed unequivocal support for Prime Minister Netanyahu. Among them are Ministers Amir Ohana, Yariv Levin, Yuval Steinitz, Dudi Amsalem, Ze’ev Elkin, Miri Regev, Member of Knesset Nir Barkat and others. The media is hiding Likud’s huge support for Netanyahu in an attempt to distort reality. Fake News!” according to a report on Arutz Sheva.
Media reports had noted the slowness of Likud officials to speak up for Netanyahu following the announcement of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit’s decision to indict him, and Netanyahu’s speech vowing to continue serving in office despite the “witch hunt” against him.
The Likud statement claiming “Fake News!” was also omitted by most of the media.
