The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting of foreign ministers on Monday to discuss Washington’s change of position on Israeli settlements in Yehuda and Shomron, Egypt’s state news agency MENA said on Wednesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration on Monday abandoned the United States’s four-decade position that the Israeli presence in the region was “inconsistent with international law.”

The declaration was welcomed in Israel by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu‏‏ and his right-wing supporters, but condemned by the U.N., E.U., Palestinians, Russia and Turkey.
