BD”E: Rebbetzin Gittel Kaplan, A”h
Rebbetzin Gittel Kaplan, a”h, the wife of, lhbch”l, Hagaon Harav Nissan Kaplan, Rosh Yeshivas Da’as Aharon and Rav of Givat Hamivtar neighborhood in Yerushalayim, passed away Tuesday in the Shaare Zedek Medical Center, after an illness. She was 49 at her passing.
Rebbetzin Kaplan was the daughter of, lhbch”l, Hagaon Harav Avraham Gurwicz, shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Gateshead, and Rebbetzin Sarah. She was born in Gateshead in Cheshvan 5731/1970.
When she came of age, she married Harav Nissan Kaplan, the son of the Mashgiach Harav Naftali Kaplan. For many years, Rav Nissan delivered a shiur in Yeshivas Mir to the overseas bachurim.
They lived in Har Nof, where they raised their 11 children; seven of whom are still unmarried. Rebbetzin Kaplan devoted herself totally to her husband, allowing him to continue unhindered in his harbatzas haTorah.
The levayah will be held later Tuesday in Yerushalayim.
