Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz declared on Tuesday that if elected he would confront Hamas with an ultimatum that if the terror group refuses a list of Israel’s demands it will face military invasion, The Times of Israel reported.

At a press conference near the Gaza border, Gantz, accompanied by party members Moshe Yaalon and Gabi Ashkenazi, also former IDF chiefs of staff, pledged that things would be different under a government led by them:

“The next time something happens here we will make sure that it will be the last round. We will aim for the toppling of Hamas, take action to assassinate all Hamas leaders and go in with ground forces for however long we want. We will not accept a ceasefire; we will bring about the military defeat of Hamas,” Gantz said.

Gantz said that the demands would include “complete silence [on the border] and returning the boys,” referring to civilians and bodies of IDF soldiers held in Gaza.
