NJ Transit Modifies Rail Service Due to Amtrak Repairs
Some New Jersey Transit train passengers are facing changes due to Amtrak track repairs at New York’s Penn Station.
Beginning Monday, NJ Transit is temporarily diverting select Midtown Direct trains on the Montclair-Boonton Line and one North Jersey Coast Line train to Hoboken. Passengers must use PATH or find alternate ways into New York City.
Morris & Essex Line Midtown Direct trains are no longer stopping at Newark Broad Street station during the morning and evening peak periods. A limited number of Midtown Direct reverse-peak trains will operate from Hoboken.
Amtrak is taking two tracks out of service. The work is expected to last until Sept. 6.
