Prosecutors to Appeal Lenient Ruling on Teen in Murder of Palestinian Woman

State prosecutors said on Tuesday they intend to appeal a court decision to release to house arrest a teen charged with murdering a Palestinian woman, The Times of Israel reported.

Earlier in the day, the Lod District Court ruled on the suspect’s house arrest and gave the prosecution until Wednesday to submit its appeal.

The court’s decision was based on testimony from the chief pathologist at the National Center of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir, that suggested the teen may not be guilty. The forensic expert said that the stone he allegedly hurled at Aisha Rabi’s car in October, resulting in her death, may not have been what killed her.
