A building at the corner of Avenue P and East Fifth Street partially collapsed overnight Monday after a suspected drunk driver crashed into it.

The building buckled under after the vehicle slammed into it. The 20-year-old driver then fled but was caught minutes later on Ocean Parkway and Kings Highway after a chase by Shomrim volunteers.

The driver was taken by EMS to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. There is a search ongoing for the other people in the car.
