Pinchas Menachem Pshevesman, 21, Killed by Rocket in Ashdod

Hundreds of people following the aron of Pinchas Menachem Pshevesman Hy”d in front of the Gerer Beis Medrash on Yermiyahu Street in Yerushalayim.

Another barrage of rockets from Gaza hit southern Israel on Sunday evening, killing a 21- year-old chareidi man in in Ashdod.

Pinchas Menachem Pshevesman Hy’d, was rushed the city’s Assuta hospital for emergency treatment after sustaining shrapnel injuries from a rocket that hit his home in Ashdod, according to paramedics on the scene. He subsequently succumbed to those injuries, the fourth Israeli killed in the current fighting.

The levayeh was held tonight at 11 pm Israeli time at  the Bais Medrash of Ger in Yerushalayim instead of in Bet Shemesh after the Gerrer Rebbe Shlita said he would attend. The levayeh proceeded to Shamgar where there were hespedim.  Kevurah was on Har Menuchos. He is survived by his wife, one year old child, and his parents, Harav Chaim Dov Pshevesman ybl’c formerly of Monsey.

The barrage into Ashdod was intense, approximately 20 Hamas rockets in a minute and a half. Many were reportedly brought down by the Iron Dome defense system.

Air raid sirens were also heard in Gadera and Yavne on Sunday.

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip also hit a home in Sderot, but b’chasdei shamayim, no injuries were reported, as the rocket failed to explode upon impact, according to Channel 13.

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip last night landed in the front yard of Likud MK and former head of the Shin Bet security service Avi Dichter.

Shrapnel damaged parts of Dichter’s home, but he and his family were in their fortified room and were not injured, according to media reports.

Meanwhile, Kfar Saba joined Netanya in opening its public bomb shelters in case of further attacks.

The decision was made by the municipality, not the the IDF’s Home Front Command. Kfar Saba is about 20 minutes north east of Tel Aviv.

Thus far, an estimated 650 rockets have been fired by Hamas on Sunday, 173 rockets were intercepted by Iron Dome.
