Jews who gathered to daven at the Kever of Yosef Hatzadik in Shechem were shot at by a passing car, and the Israeli Defense Forces who were protecting them eliminated the terrorists by returning fire and ramming their car with a military bulldozer. IDF discovered several improvised grenades in the car driven by the attackers.

Palestinian sources identified the terrorists as Raid Hamdan and Zid Nuri. Nuri was the brother of Saamar Nuri, a murderous terrorist who perpetrated an attack in the

old Central Bus Station in Tel Aviv in 2003 which killed 23 people. Palestinian medical personnel reported that three additional terrorists were wounded by IDF gunfire.
