BD’E: Harav Moshe Goldberg, Zt”l

With great sadness Hamodia regrets to announce the sudden petirah of Harav Moshe Goldberg, zt”l.

Rav Goldberg suffered a heart attack on Tuesday night, and it seemed that his condition stabilized Wednesday morning. As his conditioned suddenly deteriorated, his family rushed to his bedside, and he was niftar Thursday morning at 1:40 a.m.

Rav Moshe was born in Chicago and learned in Telshe-Chicago and later in Telshe-Cleveland. After his marriage to the daughter of Reb Chaim Polskin, z”l, he lived in Cleveland, as he continued learning in Telshe. He later spent a decade as a Maggid Shiur in Miami, and eventually moved to Toronto 23 years ago, where he served as a Rebbi in Yeshiva Gedolah of Toronto and Yeshiva Or Chaim. He authored several sefarim on Torah, Nach and Shas titled Bikurei Moshe.

Rav Moshe is the brother of Harav Aharon Dovid Goldberg, Rosh Yeshivah of Telshe-Cleveland. His siblings include Harav Yehuda Goldberg shlita (Riverdale), Harav Ephraim Goldberg, Harav Chaim Goldberg, zt”l (Yerushalayim), and tbl”c, Mrs. Shani Eisemann and Mrs. Leah Hess.

The levayah took take place at Yeshiva Gedolah of Toronto, 70 Fairholme Avenue, at 12:30 p.m. Kevurah will be in Eretz Yisrael.
