Upstate N.Y. Could Get a Foot of Snow by Thursday

LYONS, N.Y. (AP) —

A National Weather Service expert says up to 16 inches of snow could cover the ground by Thursday morning in parts of Upstate New York.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, meteorologist Jon Hitchcock says about 7 to 14 inches of new snow could arrive in several “batches” in Wayne County between now and Thursday.

Forecasters also say Syracuse could get close to a foot of snow in the next few days.

Syracuse.com reports that 22 central New York school districts have run out of snow days. If more days are needed, school breaks or staff development days will have to be used for classes.
