Police and medical teams were rushed to a school in Yerushalayim after an iron bar that apparently fell from a nearby construction site and hit a girl on her head.

The 15-year-old girl was evacuated from the school on David Yellin Street to the Hadasah Ein Kerem Hospital. The hospital spokesperson updated that the girl was on a respirator and in serious condition.

Rami Doyev, a medic at Ichud Hatzalah, said: “The girl was in the school yard and an iron bar fell on her from a nearby construction site. We administered initial medical assistance and afterwards she was evacuated to receive medical treatment in the hospital.”

Police are investigating the incident and have not ruled out nationalistic motives.
