Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu confirmed reports that Israel has in recent days carried out attacks against Iranian targets in Syria.

Giving a statement on Tuesday night before departing to Warsaw, Netanyahu said that Israel operates “every day, including yesterday, against Iran and against its attempts to establish itself in the region.”

“We operate very many means and very many elements against the Iranian aggression, against their attempt to arm themselves with nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Time and again we have exposed their terrorist actions in Europe. Time and again we have blocked their attempts to entrench in Syria, day after day,” he added.

Syria’s SANA news reported that the IDF on Monday shelled several targets in the Quneitra area, adjacent to its border in the Israeli Golan Heights.

The report said that the Israeli shelling targeted a destroyed hospital in Quneitra with a number of tank shells, as well as an observation center in Jabata al-Khashab.

Only limited material damage was caused, the report said. However, other reports stated that two Iranians were killed in the attack.

The report also quoted a Syrian military source who said that on Sunday the IDF targeted Tal al-Douhor in Jabata al-Khashab, Tal al-Deria and Talet Khaled with a number of shells. Later on, Israeli drones launched four missiles on the Quneitra hospital and one of the points affiliated with the Syrian security guard forces.
