Incendiary Balloon Found Near Negev Kindergarten

After a lull in attempted terror balloon launches, another balloon was found in the south of the country Friday morning. An incendiary balloon landed near a kindergarten in the Sdot Negev Regional Council, ahead of Hamas’ Friday demonstrations at the Gaza Strip border fence.

There were no casualties and no danger was posed to residents of the area, baruch Hashem. A police sapper was called to defuse the balloon.

The police called on the public to exercise extreme caution regarding suspicious objects, especially kites or balloons, which may contain explosives and incendiary materials. The police emphasized that children should be informed about the dangers inherent in unfamiliar items on the ground.

Police said that they should be called in the event that any suspicious items are seen or discovered by any Israeli anywhere in the country.
