The incident took place on Wednesday morning next to a bus stop in central Shomron when a driver sped up as he approached a group of soldiers.

Israeli security personnel present at the scene opened fire on the terrorist and neutralized him. He was evacuated in moderate condition to Beilinson Medical Center in Petach Tikva.

Three other people at the scene were treated for shock, all residents of Shomron.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, a Palestinian from the central Israeli town of Tira was indicted for allegedly planning a terror attack in Yerushalayim two weeks ago, The Times of Israel reported.

The man, Louis Aqel Sultan, came to Damascus Gate of the Old City carrying a knife, the indictment says.

Police, who noticed something suspicious about him, ordered him to empty his pockets, which he did — except for the knife, which was then found on him during a search.

Before leaving to carry out the attack, he allegedly studied videos about previous attacks in the capital.
