New Parcel of Land to Be Added to State Park

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Moreau Lake park is getting 131 additional acres that will expand the state park’s trail network and provide access to scenic views, the Times Union reported. The new parcel includes summits such as Palmertown Mountain and brings the park’s total acreage to 6,100.

Baby Found After Thieves Steal Car With Child Inside

BUFFALO – A 2-month-old baby was found at a roadside Saturday after thieves stole a car with the infant in it, The Associated Press reported. The mother left her in a car with the keys in the ignition and the motor running as she shopped. The mother may face charges.

NY Wraps Up Work on 5 Upstate Bridges

ALBANY – New York wrapped up work on five upstate bridges, ranging from safety upgrades, new sidewalks and guard rails to the complete replacement of the bridge deck and girders. In all, the work cost just over $10 million.

Complaint About Judge for Jailing Woman for ‘Disrespect’

NEWARK – A Newark municipal court judge was called out for jailing a woman he accused of being “disrespectful” in court, The Associated Press reported. Marvin Adames had the woman jailed for 23 days in 2016 after she couldn’t post $10,000 bail involving a landlord-tenant dispute.
