Thanksgiving Day Learning Programs Across the Country

Legal Holiday Learning at Denver Community Kollel

On Thursday, November 22, the Denver Community Kollel will host a Legal Holiday Learning Program on the topic “Close Up Shop: The Issues of Purchasing an Item Someone Else is Already Looking to Buy.”

This program will be held in three locations. At the Kollel West Side beis medrash, 1395 Wolff Street, Shacharis will be at 8:00 followed by breakfast and learning, for men only.

On the East Side, the program will be held at EDOS, 198 S. Holly Street, Shacharis will be at 7:30, followed by breakfast and learning, for men only.

At Aish Denver, located at 9550 E. Belleview Avenue, Shacharis will be at 8:00, followed by breakfast and learning, for men and women.

Thanksgiving Learning Program at Yeshivas Be’er Yitzchok

Yeshivas Be’er Yitzchok in Elizabeth, New Jersey, will host a Thanksgiving Learning Program with Rabbi Fishel Schachter on the subject, “Chanukah: The Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel.”

This event will be held on Thursday, November 22, at Yeshivas Be’er Yitzchok, 1391 North Avenue, in Elizabeth.

The program will begin with Shacharis at 8:00, followed by breakfast and a seder from 9:30 to 10:00, with mareh mekomos provided. Come join a chaburah, learn with a chavrusa, or learn with your children.

The shiur will be at 10:00, with a concurrent program for the children, with raffles and prizes.

Legal Holiday Yarchei Kallah at Passaic-Clifton Community Kollel

The Passaic-Clifton Community Kollel will host a Legal Holiday Yarchei Kallah, featuring Harav Aharon Lopiansky, Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshiva of Greater Washington, on the topic of “Sushi Instead of Gefilte Fish on Shabbos: The Parameters of Minhag in Halachah and Hashkafah.”

This event will be held on Thursday, November 22, at Bais Torah U’tefilah, 218 Aycrigg Avenue.

It will begin with a hot breakfast buffet at 9:30 a.m., followed by the shiur at 9:45.

Thanksgiving Day Yarchei Kallah at Kollel Ner Hamizrach of Atlanta

On Thursday, November 22, Kollel Ner Hamizrach of Atlanta will host a Thanksgiving Day Yarchei Kallah on the topic of “Kibbud Av Va’Eim: Honoring Parents.”

Questions to be discussed include: How much is one obligated to spend in fulfillment of this mitzvah?; Can one use maaser funds to cover expenses in fulfilling this mitzvah?; What is the obligation regarding honoring one’s parents after their passing?; Does a parent have a right to forgo their honor?; Are converts obligated in the mitzvah of honoring their parents?

This event will be held at Kollel Ner Hamizrach, 1858 Lavista Road NE. Shacharis will be at 8:00 a.m., followed by breakfast, learning groups and chavrusos at 9:30, and the shiur by Harav Shmuel Khoshkerman at 11:00.
