Suspected Terror Attack Near Yerushalayim
Police are investigating a suspected terror attack on a 30-year-old man who was lightly injured in a stabbing on Tuesday afternoon at the entrance to Beit Jala, near Mount Gilo, which is near Yerushalayim.
The victim was stabbed in the face and the assailant then fled the scene, near the bypass tunnel next to the Palestinian town of Beit Jala.
Border Police have initiated a search for the stabber.
Eyewitnesses said the Israeli man was attacked when he entered a store in the area, according to one of the medics who treated the victim.
He was treated at the scene by Magen David Adom medics and then evacuated to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, an MDA spokesperson said.
