Young Father of Two Struck and Killed by Car in Far Rockaway
The Jewish Community in Far Rockaway/Five Towns is mourning the tragic loss of a yungerman, Reb Naftoli Rhodes Z”l, who was struck by a vehicle at the junction of Route 878 and Central Avenue. Hatzolah arrived soon after they received multiple calls and tried valiantly to resuscitate him as he was rushed to St. John’s Hospital, where he was niftar shortly after arrival.
A relative of Reb Naftoli Z”l told Hamodia that the niftar was the son of Harav Dovid Rhodes, the Rosh Yeshiva of Torah Metzion in Great Neck, and the husband of Tzippy nee Grumet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henach Grumet of Far Rockaway. He is the father of two young children. He was a member of Community Kollel Avreichim of Lawrence/Far Rockaway.
The levaya will be held Friday morning 9:30 AM at Agudath Israel of Long Island, 1121 Sage St, in Far Rockaway. The family will sit Shiva until Thursday in Far Rockaway at 1230 Beach 12th Street.
