A 23-year-old Arab rioter was shot overnight Tuesday in the village of Tamoun, near Jenin in northern Shomron, as IDF soldiers operating in the village were confronted with rocks, bricks and other items thrown at them by rioters. Arab sources said the rioter was taken to a hospital, where he died of his wounds. The IDF said it was examining the reports of this death. Several dozens rioters participated in the unrest, which took place as soldiers were attempting to arrest a terrorist in the village. Soldiers responded with anti-riot measures.

In a separate incident, the IDF said it was examining reports that another rioter had been injured or killed, this time in the Halhoul refugee camp near Chevron. Arab sources claimed that soldiers opened fire on rioters, after they were shot at. Security sources said that soldiers were not fired upon, and did not shoot at rioters in the incident.

IDF soldiers overnight Tuesday seized weapons that were to be used in terror attacks. Soldiers, working with police, discovered weapons in several villages in the Menashe region.
