The Torah world mourns the petirah of Harav Eliyahu Pesach Rominek, zt”l, Rosh Yeshivah, Yeshivas Ohavei Torah in Far Rockaway, who was niftar overnight Monday.

Harav Rominek was a talmid of Hagaon Harav Yitzchok Hutner, zt”l, at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin, and of Hagaon Harav Aharon Kotler, zt”l, at Beis Medrash Govoha in Lakewood.

He was marbitz Torah for close to 70 years.

He served as Rav of the Young Israel of Laurelton, Queens throughout the community’s existence, until 1975. Through his efforts, many of the unaffiliated families raised Torah-true homes.

In 1978 Harav Rominek founded Yeshivas Ohavei Torah. For decades, he delivered shiurim throughout the week to all ages and all levels.

The levayah was held Tuesday morning in the Yeshiva of Far Rockaway. The mittah will be flown to Eretz Yisrael for kevurah.
