Palestinians Set Off Explosives Damaging Gaza Fence

YERUSHALAYIM -

In another day of rioting along the Gaza border on Tuesday, about a hundred Palestinians engaged in burning tires and throwing rocks at IDF soldiers, as well as setting off explosives that caused damaged to the border fence.

IDF soldiers responded to the violent disorders with tear gas and live fire. There were no reports of injuries.

In a separate incident, a group of Palestinians broke through the security fence and approached an IDF post. They fled back into Gaza after troops fired warning shots at them, the army said.

According to the IDF, “the events were monitored by the forces in the field and IDF observation post, and the IDF responded by crowd-dispersing munitions and lethal ammunition in accordance with the Open-Fire Regulations.”

Also on Tuesday, incendiary balloons from Gaza that landed in southern Israel ignited five fires.

Firefighting teams, with the assistance of Jewish National Fund (Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael) personnel, succeeded in extinguishing the fires.
